Making our communities healthy for birds... and people

Starkweather Creek Cleanup with the Friends of Starkweather Creek

Join Friends of Starkweather during Earth Week for Saturday, April 17, walk and canoe outings. Space may be limited. Bring your own canoe or kayak, vest and paddles if you have them. Or just grab a garbage bag and pick up litter on your own along Starkweather Creek any day in April to help beautify this incredible natural area in the middle of the east side of Madison.

Outings in the Starkweather Creek area vary each month - be sure to check the starting location. All begin at 10 am on the third Saturday of the month year-round, and frequently start at the Goodman Community Center unless noted otherwise. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature, Madison Parks, Goodman Community Center, Madison Audubon Society, and Friends of Starkweather Creek. No registration required. No pets are allowed.

IMPORTANT: Following guidance from Public Health Madison and Dane County, Madison Parks is supporting the volunteer-led Bird & Nature Outings. Participation is limited to the first 20 people. Masks are required and must be worn at all times. Please practice social distancing with members outside of your household. Self-guided walks are encouraged any day.
