Wauwatosa Fall Bird Tour at the Forest Exploration Center

Description

The City of Wauwatosa, in collaboration with the Forest Exploration (FEC), invites you to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on October 2, 2021, at 8:30 am at the FEC's Nature Trail, 1800 Forest Exploration Dr. in Wauwatosa. The City of Wauwatosa was recently recognized as one of the newest Bird Cities.

Observe, explore, and discover on a 90-minute fall migration hike led by Carl Schwartz, editor of the Badger Birder and former director of Bird City Wisconsin. We hope to catch views of colorful fall migratory birds, along with many year-round residents.

The trail offers a one-mile loop of exploration and discovery under the canopy of the shaded woodland and was designed and built specifically for wheelchair, foot traffic, and strollers only.

Binoculars are recommended but not required. All are welcome, but the tour size will be limited to 25 and may fill up quickly. Accessible parking is available at the main entrance. Note that parking is limited at the FEC, but alternate parking (if needed) is available on Discovery Pkwy.
