The 35th annual Bald Eagle Watching Days are set for Jan. 15-16, 2022, in the Sauk Prairie area and will feature a hybrid event with both in-person opportunities and virtual prerecorded and live segments. The event highlights the comeback of Bald Eagles in their congregating area along the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway beneath the Prairie du Sac dam.
The Overlook on Water Street in Prairie du Sac will be staffed with volunteers on Saturday and Sunday to assist with eagle viewing. Additionally, Saturday offers both virtual and live presentations (conditions permitting) at the River Arts Center in Sauk Prairie. You can also explore some of the area’s other eagle-watching sites on your own by downloading two self-guided tours to your mobile device. Find the links for the app on the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council’s webpage.
The council cosponsors the event with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce, and Tripp Heritage Museum.
